- BA Global Sales Partner Update (April 2023): this month, Adam Bennett, Head of Business Channel Sales in the UK & Ireland, gives the latest update on behalf of the BA Global Sales Leadership team. Highlights include the appointment of our new Director of Global Sales at BA, who will join us in mid-April, highlights from our LGW operations, as well as our first Global Sales Sustainability Summit hosted last month at our London Head Office.
- British Airways’ Sustainability Summit: At British Airways, we are committed to Sustainability as part of our BA Better World program. Our strategy includes Operational Efficiency in our Flight Operations, SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), and investment in Future Technologies. In March, in collaboration with the Sustainability team, Global Sales hosted the first F2F Sustainability Summit for UK-based customers across all channels. We are pleased to share with you these video reels with the Sustainability Summit’s highlights and BA’s Operational Efficiency focal points.
- Sharm El Sheikh Route Launch: From November 2023, BA Euroflyer will be launching a new route from London Gatwick (LGW) to Sharm El Sheikh (SSH). Flights will be operating 4 times per week in November and December 2023, and 3 times a week from mid-December to the end of the winter schedule. Tickets are now on sale.
- British Airways launches a new route from London Heathrow (LHR) to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen (SAW) for the Summer Season: We are currently the only airline to operate to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen from London Heathrow. Flights will be operating 4 times per week, throughout our Summer 2023 schedule on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. We are continuing to fly frequently to Istanbul’s International Airport (IST). Flights are on sale now.
- British Airways is Celebrating Easter Onboard: to celebrate Easter on board this year, we will be offering an Easter Menu on all our routes from LHR and LGW on 9 April 2023. This includes a traditional lamb dish in premium cabins, and the option to purchase Cadbury Mini Eggs in Euro Traveller.

- Iberia – ATC and Public Sector Employees Strike in France from March 7 to April 8: Due to the announcement of a strike by Air Traffic Controllers and Public Sector Employees in France, from March 7 to April 8, Iberia has issued flexibility guidance for flights that continue to operate (075-060). For customers on cancelled IB flights, standard customer handling guidelines will apply. Please see the attachment.
- Iberia increased capacity by 6% this Easter, measured in seats vs 2019. From April 2 to 10, the Iberia group will offer nearly 420,000 seats. Also, Iberia strengthened its routes to Athens, Budapest, Geneva, Marrakech, and Oslo, in addition to the growth in destinations such as Milan, Paris, Rome, and Venice. Among the long-haul routes, Iberia customers will enjoy more flights to most destinations in the US, such as Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, and Washington.
