This applies to tickets issued up to and including Sunday 12 February 2023, for travel to/from/via Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Kerikeri, Whangarei and New Plymouth, up to and including Friday 17 February 2023.
Defer Travel
Customers can change dates (same origin & destination), for travel up to and including Wednesday 22 February 2023, without any change fees or fare difference.
For international flights, if travel is only available in a higher cabin, the fare difference will apply.
If the proposed date of travel is unknown, the ticket may be held in credit for 12 months validity.
Change origin or destination
Customers ticketed for travel to/from/via Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Kerikeri, Whangarei and New Plymouth up to and including Friday 17 February 2023, can change their travel to another Air New Zealand origin or destination without change fees. In this instance any fare difference will apply.
Refund
Normal refund rules apply, non-refundable fares remain non-refundable, unless required by any local legislation. Customers may defer travel as per the defer section of this policy.
Travel as planned
Any customer who opts to commence their journey as planned must be advised that they do so at their own risk. Due to the impact of the weather, Air New Zealand services could be further disrupted at any point. Air New Zealand will not be liable for any costs associated with disrupted travel should a customer opt to travel as planned.
Important note for all scenarios:
- Please endorse any changes with “Invol change due Cyclone Gabrielle”.
- Any incidental costs and penalties such as accommodation etc. will be the customer’s responsibility.
- Customers should be referred to their travel insurance policy to see if they are covered for any incremental costs and/or refund options where they hold a non-refundable fare.
Customers are recommended to download the Air NZ app to receive instant notifications about their travel. Our travel alerts page will be updated with any further advice and information.
Air New Zealand will continue to monitor the situation and advise any changes to the flexibility policy guidelines. Should there be an improvement in the weather the flexibility guidelines will cease and will revert to standard fares conditions.
